CapnMac82 ;

 The choice of real cloth was a standard one . In this scale I use cloth , always . The " Irish Linen or Egyptian Cotton , 1100 thread count works great .

 You can't always find it though . I sometimes buy a Fine Womens Blouse at the thrift store and cut it up for the material .

 Women's clothing is made of much finer material than our stuff . ( The softness factor , I guess )

Hey " G " ;

 Yes , in some cases the canvas dodgers do have a grease infused twine that goes around the top rail . I just chose in this case not to do it .

 Believe it or not . I used part of an Irish Linen Mens Handkerchief , I got at Men's Wearhouse .It was an extra .

Doesn't the edge have stitching that wraps around the rail? Yet to build a 1/96 steel navy ship model, but for 1/144 I've used masking tape.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Canvas is real Cloth

What did you use?

At 1/96, I nver found anything I liked, and just beat up high-quality, 100% rag conctent resume paper until it was soft--which precludes a crisp edge, sadly.
