That ship was built in San Francisco in a facility that while empty, still exists and is sort of "in storage" for future renovation.

I don't have to take a picture . It looks like a reverse image of the Top Photo , only a little closer . No Vessel wake in the foreground either . It's quite common in places with Nautical decor around the Bay area.
I know they didn't have Photoshop back then , But I bet it's an altered photo . T.B. P.S. - I really do like the bottom photo . And I know which ships had better engineers . They are making the least amount of smoke !

I got you there . The Photo I mentioned , I picked up at an antique store in Antioch ,CA. some years back .It was said to be a print of some famous photo .There are nine ships visible for detail .
As to the ship , I am replying to the builder of the ship in the latest issue of the mag . I think it's the Encore Premium edition of the Olympia . Bill Plunk did a great job on her . Was it the Olympia ? I think so . T.B.

But, in this case, I believe TB is referring to Mr. Plunk's build of the USS Olympia in the September 2018 issue of FSM.

Tanker - Builder I do have to ask you Mr. Plunk , what resin plug are you referring to ? One from the aftermarket kit or somehow one included in the kit ? The reason I ask ? I have that kit and it doesn't have any resin bits in it .

Resin parts are in my Encore Premium edition. The plugs which are referenced are some V-shaped parts to close in various hawse holes. In the same bag are some resin props. Also included in the premium edition are a couple of PE frets, a couple sets of brass gun barrels, wooden decks, some chain, and brass pedestals. My kit also came with a pine plaque which I discarded (too short and too poorly routed to finish well)

I don't usually comment on ships in the mag . This one I had to . See , what I mean ? She looks dark and many details are hard to see , even in that scale .
The work is first rate , But I myself would've sanded off most evidence of a steel plate texture except here and there for effect . With the dark paint , it ( the surface ) is too busy for these old eyes . I do like the effect the wood deck gives it .
