Russian Kirovs by Trumpeter.

Sorry about the poor quality of these pics, but I wanted to post my progress with these. These are the two 1/700 scale Trumpeter Kirov-class Russian battlecruisers that I've been building together. The one in front is the Frunze, and the one behind is the Piotr Velihky.

These are reay to clearcoat and decal, I should then have them done in a day or so.

Looking good, I like the lines of the Russian equipment. Tanks, planes, and ships. The Russians just had some cool looking toys if you ask me.

Love them Kirovs ... good job! I have the kit, but it came in waterline only. Did you scratchbuild the hulls or is there another version? I would kill to have these bad boys in 1:350 ......

Sorry about taking so long to reply here.

After I apply the decals, yes. I use a mix of 80-20 Future-Tamiya Flat Base and airbrush it on. Frunze has been finished. I have still to apply the decals to P. Velihky, then he'll be satin-coated.

No, I didn't scratch-build the hulls. These are from Trumpeter, who gives you the option of a waterline, or full-hulled version. You can see my choice! Wink [;)]

Who knows, someday Trumpeter will make them in 1/350 scale, after all they did the Sovremenyys and Udaloys that way! Big Smile [:D]
