Need a little help.
Posted by fox on Monday, July 29, 2019 12:51 PM

The wife of a friend asked me to complete a model that her late husband was working on for her. It is the Mantua "Black Falcon". The ship itself is complete but he was just starting on the standing rigging. There were no building or rigging plans in the box. Also the rest of the fittings are missing which is no problem as I have quite a stash of them in all sizes.

Been searching for plans but haven't had any luck. The only thing I found on the mantua site was the catalog for the kits. No way to find replacement parts or plans. Does anyone have a set that they can e-mail a copy of to me or know where I can get a set? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Jim, Cornwall Model Boats has the Mantua plans listed as a separate item. Don't know whether the price is reasonable or not, but it might be worth a look.

Actually, Mantua has them too...just apparently listed separately from the kit, for maximum confusion:

No sweat, Jim. I actually looked at the Mantua site 3 times before it occurred to me to type 'Black Falcon plans' into the search bar.

They don't seem to be interested in making it easy to find them.
