Panda (was Dragon) 350 scale DDG PE help
Posted by BigJim on Friday, November 1, 2019 1:17 PM

I was looking through the instructions for the Dragon Models 1/350 Arleigh Burke DDG and noticed that it is lacking any indication to where photo etch parts #2 & #3 are to be located. There are several pieces of each (#2 & #3) and are all railings of different types.

Is there anyone out there that has built this model and could tell me where these pieces are supposed to go?

Lacking a better identification in the OP as to the kit name or number I went off and found an image of the Dragon PE in a review of the kit on Modelwarships.

to the best of my identification PE-1 is 5-bar railing, PE-2 is 3-bar with pads and PE-3 is 2-bar with a gutter rail.  Referring to Classic Warships #24, Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers.   The line drawings appear to show that the 5-bar railing is placed around the deck edge (should actually be stanchions with wire-rope).  3-Bar with pad railing is placed around the elevated superstructure decks, and the 2-bar/gutter railing is placed around the mast platforms and MK99 illuminator dish platforms.  2-bar railing may also be placed around the CIWS mount.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

I don't know what I was thinking, but, I got the model manufacturer mixed up. As you can see, I went back and changed it to Panda Models, not Dragon, whose instructions were lacking in the placement of the PE railings.

I'm sorry for any confusion.
