I tried making them myself and fail three times.I know of modelers that made decals for themsevles. Thought came to mind if one of them could do a set for me. I will pay for it. Like someone said all these 1/350 Supercarriers are out were are the decals?

Unfortunately nobody makes them anymore. Gold Medal Models for some reason will not reprint them. Many have requested them but the replies have been they will not. Boatswain Models started to do many carriers and a generic set but they shut down earlier this year. I spent about 6 weeks searching Ebay for the GMM set a couple of times a week. Over that time there were a couple of sets and I was able to get one. With many 1/350 US aircraft carrier models coming out you would think one of the many decal companies would make a set.

See this link too, and Ed Grunes info:

As far as the deck numbers. maybe it wouldn't be too hard to turn an 8 into a 9 since they aren't shaded.

Or, if you are set up to do so, scan the decal sheet for Nimitz and see if you can print a bunch of 6's to make 6's and 9's.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I apologize, Here is the set that includes the deck and island numbers and the stern nameplate.

Thanks for the help! I appreciate it.

Stupid question: is there any more to it than changing 8 to 9?

That's not a stupid question. Yes, that's about it. Getting the correct 9 for the 69 on the bow/flight deck and both sides of the island is crucial for making it look like IKE.

When I click on add to cart is does add them. Granted, I can't tell if they are not in stock, hopefully it works.

1:350 Modern Aircraft Carrier Decals

Hello,

I will be buying the Trumpeter USS Nimitz 1/350 model kit with the intention of “re-numbering” it to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69).

I’m having trouble finding the appropriate  1/350 water slide decals for the flight deck and island to do this, however. Gold Medal Models and Starfighter do not seem to produce these anymore and Ebay was a bust.

I realize there have probably been threads before this one asking about the same problem though I can’t find one right now.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Brian
