Remember the MAINE....

For those who don't typically 'wander' into unfamiliar sub-headings...my recently-completed 1/250 build of the 1895 armored cruiser USS Maine (in its HMV paper-model version) may be found here:

[pasting in the address, since I can typically never get the actual 'link' function to work Super Angry]

Thank you.

A fine model. What do you do with the edges?

Thanks, Bill.

Mostly paint...or magic marker, if the right color can be found. For thicker parts (that require an extra layer) I've got a quickly-dwindling supply of 'earth tone' 3x5 cards I found years ago at a craft booth. Haven't seen them since.

Cheers

Greg, she looks AWESOME! My all time favorite ship ever. I wish someone would make a styrene model of her, say in 1/350 or 1/200. I built the Pyro version many many years ago. The box art was correct but the model itself.... a bastardized Olympia with added side turrets. Even at that age I was mad.

Anyway, well done sir.

Thanks, Steve.

Lord, I remember that awful Pyro 'Maine.' They just moved the stacks and fiddled the turrets. Not even close!
