Silly me that's great. I hadn't found that one.
In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!
Wasn't familiar with this so I did some googling and found this site which may be helpful to you, seems there were a few flavors of aft ramps for the interdiction/assualt ships proposed: https://www.navalhistory.org/2019/06/28/the-iowa-class-battlecarrier-a-design-that-never-took-off
I have that book. PM me offline & I'll scan the section on Iowa conversions & mail you
Rusty Whites angle deck conversion is based on one of the line drawings in the book. I once made a SpruCan conversion with a larger VTOL-capable flight deck also shown in the book.
Yep, just found that one myself and was going to post it up. Really a cool concept. The link to detailed description and pics is here:

that is not the 1 i'm talking about. this model still had her forward superstructure & forward main turrets. can't remember if single angle deck or a V shaped flight deck. model was done about 10yrs ago i think. here it is. http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=105033&start=20
ddp59 somebody already converted an Iowa class battleship into a hybrid battleship aircraft carrier with a V-shaped flight deck over the aft end.

Ok I found the one on ModelWarships. EJM finished one up in Jan of 2019. He did the WWII complete conversion to a flat-top. Looks alot like a typical WWII carrier with the island narrow and on the starboard side. Definitely a cool project. Will see if I find any more.
I am thinking of doing the one with the V shaped ramp deck for STOL aircraft. Would love to paint up some AV-8B harriers.
i don't think so as i think it was 1/350 scale & as a kitbash. check the modelwarships site as you posted there about that book.
are you referring to the Nishimo kit in box scale?
I don't have that one, but another suggestion in that area is "US Battleship Conversion Projects 1942-1965, an Illustrated Technical Reference" by Wayne Scarpaci.
This book gives information about "never-were" postwar conversions of battleships, carriers, battlecruisers and cruisers with missiles and/or flight decks and/or landing craft amd/or replenishment capabilities. Nearly all the conversions have plan and elevation drawings. All sorts of fun projects that never happened.

Hey gang, I'm looking for a copy of The Hybrid Warship by R.D. Layman and Stephen McLaughlin I have a cool idea for the USS New Jersey I have. The basic ships been done a million times so it's sat on my shelf for about a million years ;-) I just read about a proposal for a hybrid proposal when they were pulling her out of mothballs - adding a ramp flight deck for Harriers! Now that would be a cool build and I know I could scratch up the parts. So if you have it let me know and maybe you could share the pages on the Iowa Class Faces II pages.
