securing thread
Posted by cid80q on Thursday, August 13, 2020 2:10 PM

so I'm building the 1:72 Gato Class submarine and I am perplexed about how to secure the thread railing on the front deck of the conning tower once I run it through the stanchions.  I figure I can secure one end by running the thread through holes in the front piece of the conning tower and securing it with glue and tape before I attach the piece to the rest of the conning tower, the mystery is how to secure the other end once I dont have access to the inside of that piece. Any ideas?

Is that the round gun deck ? In which case the railings would be curved pipe.

Try using some thin brass wire. That will hold it's shape and tuck into the holes.

Front deck of Wahoo.
