My tips for masking: use Tamiya masking tape, and have a fresh new no.11 blade for your x-acto. I’m still looking to see if I can find pics of my Yugumo. PB has become an impossible site to navigate.

Ok, I got a bit confused. Mine is the Yugumo, and older 1/300 kit, not the 1/350 Yukikaze.

Anyways, for painting, I painted the deck first, using Tamiya linoleum deck color, then masked that off once it was dry and airbrushed on the gray. I painted early during assembly, not after completion.

the one I have is 1/350 scale, but a photo of any scale will do.

Do you recall how you painted those small linoleum deck sections?

Thanks!

Their old 1/300 scale kit? I built that one ages ago, maybe in ‘07. I’ll see if the photos still exist. I was using photobucket back then.
