TB, I recommend going with the $55.00 LCM-3 model for the conversion. That $200.00 resin kit does not lend itself well to such uses. But that's just my opinion.

Heavyguns, This is the kit you got back in 2018 right?

Hi;

 If you don't mind me asking. How many Pictures of Presidents on  Blue/Green media did you have to part with? I can see a possibility of doing a conversion to my Oil Spill Skim Boat!

Floki, I think you have to order it directly from the manufacturer, Masterpiece Models.

155 Redleg, let me know if you need any reference material on those boats, and also remember that there is a bit of difference between the Program 4 and Program 5 boats. The big one I built was a Program 4.

Yeah, that cutter is a really good thing!

Still, when the plug is really big, it has to be a saw. It's good to moisten the cut constantly, then you keep the dust down.

Good luck with it and have a nice day

Use an OLFA Pcutter or the Tamiya equivalant, this raises a thin resin scarf, not dust.
PS make sure the rest of the sanding is done WET & rinsae well though.

There looks to be a big honkin' casting plug below the chine line.  Is there one there?   That may require power tools to remove

And a good dust mask!

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

   A good friend was assigned the starboard bow gun position on a Tango, can't remember what squadron he was with but I want to build one as a tribute and memory of him. Thanks for letting me tag your thread for future reference....I will be checking in.

Awesome! I always wanted this company's brown water navy kits but can never find any. Is the hull wraped at all?
