A couple of items which you didn't cover, or your coverage was a bit confused.

Trumpeter and PitRoad have/had a cooperative development and distribution agreement.   In 1/700 scale, they are PitRoad moldings, but Trumpeter had sales priority in the West.   PitRoad has the Orient.  The original PitRoad moldings for the California date back around 20 years but were redone and re-released about 15 years ago.    The kit plastic is the same as the 1:700 Tennessee.

The California was commissioned in August, 1921 WITHOUT her propellers.   These were installed shortly thereafter and final acceptance tests were performed.   The catapult on the third turret was installed about 1926.   To complete her in her "as built" configuration in addition to the catapult, there will also need to have range clocks added to the fore and aft masts and train deflection markings added to turrets 2 and 3.  The range clocks and deflection marks were deleted in the 1936 refit.  The searchlight control structure was also changed during this refit.
