My son and I are about to embark on building the Minicraft Titanic Deluxe model after seeing so many beautiful models on here and elsewhere. Obviously this can be done on a scale from scratch built to completing the kit as intended.
What are some of the "must haves" or "must dos" with this kit? I'd really like to light the kit as well, is there a stock lighting kit we can add to it?
What are some other mods worth considering?

That's the site that inspired us in the first place! I came across scaledecks.com but didn't see a set for the Titanic. Did a little more searching and looks like its part number 350-053. Now to figure out a source to purchase it.

They sell on Amazon and eBay, appear to be out of stock at the moment (they also recently upped their prices).
I can't vouch for it but there are alternatives Artwox and Shipyard Works (both on eBay, but I have seen Artwox at Free Time Hobbies). Not sure if Pontos has a set or not.
As for lighting, I know there are kits avaiable (voodooFX & Galactic Modeler) but I have no first hand experience.

Your question puzzles me. First off,How did you get the deluxe edition with no extra parts? Mine came with the P.E. and everything else Except the wood deck kit. I got from my local Hobby Shop a ArtWox deck set for just that kit. The only thing I got for the kit was the deck and a model railroad, L.E.D lighting kit. Oh, and I went to my local Lah De Dah lighting store and got real brass finials for it to sit on.
