Completed a couple months ago. Second ever surface ship. I got some great advise in another thread, so thanks again. I'm pretty happy with it as it is and afraid to try weathering it.
That's a nice job.

very clean build. i always liked the Ticonderoga class. thought they were well proportioned, and when i saw pics of one in the brownsville scrap yard and it was sad. this kit is in the stash lurking someplace and your pics are good motivation.
question- what grey did you use for your main paint?
I was expecting a carrier !!! Very nice,a clean build thst looks great.

Oh My!
Now, that You built this beauty. When are you gonna send it to me? LOL.LOL. That's a rather nice job!
Hi there, Thanks! All tamiya paints. XF19 for the vertical surfaces, (light gray) and xf54 for the horizontal surfaces/decks, (darker gray)
Thanks for all the comments. I was a bit nervous to post as a lot of the builds I've seen here just blow me away. I do have a tamiya enterprise and trumpy nimitz in stash but first gaining experience and practice before I tackle such big kits. Currently working on a Oliver Hazard Perry FFG and will likely do my Iwo Jima next. I'm really enjoying all the research and exploring of the different methods to plan build strategies.

Hey; Don't be nervous. We all build, paint and also hide mistakes when we make them. You did a fine job and the model looks great. Now ,what's next?
WilliamH, where did you get the data plaque with all that info? That is very eye catching.
sorry for the delay in getting back. Thanks for the compliment. Actually, I was inspired by some other photos I saw of something similar somewhere on the interwebs but couldnt figure how to get a plaque that nice with out spending a lot of money for custom. Then it hit me; powerpoint, color printer and glossey photo paper!
