Going to be looking at a destroyer kit of the USS Ward, the ship that fired the first American shots of WWII, in 1/700th scale.
Pretty small destroyer. Hope you have fun building it!

Wickes class carried 4"/50, but calling the guns five inch is a common uh-oh.
And YT is not set up to allow for easy edits. Sigh.
If the world were just, there would be a 1/144 Wickes.

Fair enough, 5" guns have been standard for so long its natural to automatically default to it. Thank you for the correction, is one of those things I will make sure to look out for in the future.
Also while 1/144 could be good, 1/72 would be where the moneys at.

My calculator gives that as a 52" long hull, which would be ompeting with the 1/48 Trumpy U-boat in size (and probably price, too).
There are some options in 1/96 (if multi-media) which is right at 39 inches.
Scale Shipyard, back in the 90s had a 1/48 Ward, well over eight feet long.
