Trumpeter 1/350 Constellation
Posted by WayneZ on Friday, October 1, 2021 3:45 AM

Has anyone run into this situation. I recently purchased this kit, received it beautifully packaged and started work. Imagine my surprise that a number of the initial small parts didn't fit. It turns out that all three decks and the hull are labeled "Kitty Hawk" and a part number. Trumpeter service doesn't seem to care, saying that their database says that it's okay. If it is okay shouldn't the parts fit? These are two very different aircraft carriers. Any suggestions? Is this a normal attitude from Trumpeter? If so, it's Tamiya and Revell for me in the future!

Yes the parts should fit, no they aren't different enough to get a different hull and main decks.  CV64 is a Kitty Hawk (CV63) class carrier.  What parts are you having trouble with?

According to Scalemates, the Constellation is a re-box of their kitty Hawk kit. That would explain the Kitty Hawk label. It doesn't say if there are any changed parts though.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
