is 17.465" long. Dimensions, 509' 5" (oa)

509' x 12 + 5" = 6113" / 350 scale = 17.465"

Ok. Tks. Great info. I'm gonna start looking around. As usual, I'm between sizes....  1:350 a little too big and 1:700 a little too small. Guessing here - the 1:350 is about 14" ??

Keep on modeling!

All the best,

William

The Michael Murphy is a Flight IIa Burke.    The changes from a basic Flt I Burke to a Flt II Burke are largely electronic.   Few people I know model those deltas.   A Flt IIa features a helicopter hangar.   The superstructure/stacks were raised to facilitate the SPY radar to see the horizon without the hangar interference.

In 1:700 scale you'll want to look at the Dragon and PitRoad brands, and later the HobbyBoss.  Factoid - PitRoad and Trumpeter had a development & distribution agreement.   PitRoad developed the kit molds and got first release rights in Asia.   Trumpeter (i.e. HobbyBoss) got the rights in the West.  ScaleMates also shows Fujimi and Revell in the mix.   The Revell is a re-label of another (Dragon?)_ product.

In 1:350 scale you're pretty much set with the Dragon or Trumpeter choices

Ive found 2 write ups here, a Trumpeter and i cant rememebr the other.  Can anyone recommend one they have done that they liked?  I know nothing much at all re: this class - but - was reading in my March 2022 USCS (Universal Ship Cancellation Society Log magazine) and DDG 112, USS Michael Murphy was Homported last month.  I did a little looking around on this class ship and it seemed interesting so im looking for suggestons.

Any help appreciated.
