Yes I guess the manufacturer knew that the kids would be throwing it across the room and wanted to make sure it would have a decent chance for survival if they made it extra thick in the bow area.

Thanks!I got the Stude at TRU for ten bucks because the roof was scratched..I repainted it with Tamiya Gold !
