1/400 U.S.S. Enterprise
Posted by MR TOM SCHRY on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 9:14 AM

Hi Everyone,

I just received a sales ad from Mega Hobby and in it they were selling the Revell 1/400 U.S.S. Enterprise kit.  I believe that this kit is a reboxing of the old Aurora 1/400 Enterprise with some photo-etch include.  My question is does anyone know if and where someone could just buy the photoetch?  I have the Aurora kit in the stash and would love to "deck it out" with some photo-etch.  Thanks !

Your question leaves me a bit confused... I searched Mega Hobby and found nothing of the sort... (Maybe you get e-mails of "pre-sale" stuff...???) The old Aurura kit is 1/600. (If you do have such "languishing in your stash," I'd like to buy it...) For many years there was a Revell Yorktown/Enterprise/Hornet in 1:542, according to the box of a later German re-issue... (originally "box scale...") I do believe there are detail parts for that Revell kit.

GS45570, MR TOM SCHRY is talking about CVN-65 Enterprise not CV-6 version

ddp59, thank you for clarifying that.  I should have been more specific in my initial posting.

L'Arsenal produces sets of 1/400 ship details.  White Ensign Models also does (did) so butI believe that they might be defunct.  Tom's Model Works picked up their line.
