WOW!  I didn't realize that you built ship kits too!  Your building tastes run like mine, a little bit of everything.  This ship looks great.  This kit is on my bucket list of kits to get and build someday.  my older brother built it when we were kids and I've always liked it since then.

Great job, Eugene. I am trying hard to rig a USS Constitution w/o sails; so I have a good feel of what it took you to build this kit. I have two Cutty Sarks in my stash will never get built.

On the Bench:

Revell 1/96 USS Constitution - rigging

Kinetic 1/48 YF-104A 5-2957

Trumpeter 1/350 USS Hornet CV-8

Revell 1/48 B-1B Lancer Prep & Reasearch

Did that one about a half century ago.  It was a good kit, especially for that era.

My older brother built the 1/96 scale one when we were kids and I'd love to get the same kit now and build it.

It is something like this, Eugene; I am 74 with Parkinson's Disease and going down quick. There is about 90ish kits in my stash; some I really want to build and I am stuck on rigging my Connie; which is more of a struggle every day. I need to call it done; but keep failing to do so. LIFE TRUTH: SAYING YES TO ONE THING IS SAYING NO TO SOME THING ELSE! Nope, not much time available?

Happened to Tanker Builder too!My uncle had it too and it is pretty bad .Short circuit causes this strange shaking that would make model building quite difficult.what is the solution?

".what is the solution?" Prepare for it to get worse. Modeling becomes difficult; rigging becomes impossible!

there are several medications out there to help with Parkinson's in the early to mid stages.  Eventually, however, all medications will become superfluous once the substantia nigra has completely died off.  The gold standard is levodopa.  It is often paired with carbidopa to alleviate side effects in the mid to later stages.  Please see a neurologist (if you aren't already) and ask what further can be done.

One solution is to limit the number of joints involved ibetween the hands.  I have gotten to where that number has reached zero.  I have to have the base of the thumbs of both hands in contact, and in contact with a fixed object.  This hard, of course, with tall ships.  I have made an adjustable stand that is abble to put the area I am working at a convenient height.  pics soon.

Missileman2000, it seems you are on to something. I would appreciate some pics so I can better understand what you are talking about! You may want to post it on a new thread so more people can see it and benefit from it. Thank you!

Nice job Eugen, Where you find the patience to do all the rigging is a mystery to me!

She looks like she could use a VERY gentle bath to shake them cobwebs.
Wonder if there has been a post on cleaning tall ships? (I have a couple in similar condition)

Missleman & Shipwreck, I'm very sorry to hear about your condition. Parkinson’s runs in my family and is a craptastic short straw to pull. I don't think I have it, but every finger twitch or day of unreasonable back soreness perpetuates a nagging fear.
