I had been looking through new ship kits on Amazon when I saw a line of small wood kits of sailing vessels at very cheap prices. I could'nt resist the prices I purchused a small schooner for 2o bucks. It arrived in a celophane envelope- a very basic kit but it did look buildable- I haven't started yet. I had long been looking for a Chinese Junk kit. Low and behold this line was now offering a Junk called the Green Eyebrow. Did a little research was indeed a old actual Chinese junk, at 14 bucks Amazon prime shipping. Here is what I found-Again in a celophane envelope. This time the envelope was stuck to the first page of the instructions, and tore the first page. Oh well, no great loss- the text was in an asian font, not a European font or language in all the instructions. There were several diagrams, in which they did include readable numbers as well as the aisian ones. I figure it is buildable, so will start it soon. Big advantage I see is that the laser cut wood does not require spiling. a time consuming task for me.
There are five laser cut sheets with hull pieces-
The laser-cut pieces overlaped here to get them all in a single shot.
The torn text does not bother me, simce I can't read it anyway. I beleive I can build it anyway just from the diagrams. I figure I can ge set up and working on it in a week. Sorry for the poor quality pix- I have lost the charger for my usual camera, and had to use a different camera!
