The French Carrier-"Charles de Gaulle"

 Yup, a "Heller " Kit:

Nope, I hate the problems it keeps throwing at me. If I didn't have so much time invested it would go to the Yard Sale next month! The plastic up toward the flight deck is so thin I had to paint the inside to get it the right shade of grey in spots. It actually almost had holes in the molded hull part the plastic was that thin.

The little planes are fun, but some are shaped wrong. The plastic is soft enough , so they are correctable .Neat little guys too! The MainMast is super delicate and I had to cut it  in five different sections to get it to work. It looks alright though. I ,here lately have been getting into these ships that have almost "P.E. fine plastic" moldings for these units.

This, in and of itself challenges one to be extra careful, when building and handling those parts. They make the look in the area for sure, but they are a P.I.A. to do when they have been badly warped and twisted, requiring every ounce of care and handling, I can Muster. More later-----T.B.

Heller 1/400 scale Charles de Gaulle?

Yes that was going to be my question too.
If 1/400 scale, sounds like a fun project - anything smaller... not so much fun for me. Although from your post it sounds like the fineness of the parts may be pushing the envelope and dampening that fun. I do like the details available in some of the more modern kits though.

if it is the Gaga version then a member on another site where i got the links would disagree.

" I have to finish grappling with a commission I took on (will I never learn?!?), which has become the bane of my existence: a 1/350 GAGA models Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier. It is, hands down, the worst designed, printed and fitting kit I've ever had the misfortune to have on my workbench. A total PoS. A pox on whoever printed and designed it!! "

Yeah, I've worked on plenty of subpar kits, cursed the whole time and now wouldn't part with for a millio... OK, a thousand bucks!
