German aircraft carrier
Posted by flashcul on Saturday, May 29, 2004 6:22 PM
Question [?] I see Revell (Germany) is selling a german aircraft carrier in 1/720 scale. I never heard of one. Is this a fantasy ship? what was it's name? What kind of aircraft did it carry? I don't know of any german planes with tailhooks.[:0]I have done a lot of modeling but I must have missed something. Is there such a creature lurking out there/

It's 1/720th scale, not 1/72nd.

The Graf Zeppellin aircraft carrier was started but not completed. Me109T was the designation of the navalized Messerschmitt designed and developed for use from the carrier; some of those built were eventually operated as a unit in Southern Norway. A carrier-capable variant of the Stuka was also developed, the Ju87C. There was also a biplane, the Fieseler Fi 167. 1/72 kits of the Me109T and Fi167 are available.
