I can't wait! I have to wonder though if it will be released as different versions like their Essex class. I'd hate to modify the heck out of it to make the USS Reagan just to have them release it as the Reagen with all my scratchbuilt mods already included just days after the dullcoat dries.Big Smile [:D]

Due to the amount of retooling necessary for a Reagan I think you would safe. I would imagine the other versions will reflect changes to the basic Nimitz design such as electronics, weapons and the like as they were updated through the years.
The Essex class is still pending the much more modest tooling to produce a long hull Essex.

I dont know guy's, It's getting very pricey. I hope that prices won't drive me away from building 1/350 ships in the not so far future.

200$ ?!?!?!?! shipping will probably be an extra 70-100$. I want it but cant afford it. I must addmitt it's getting on my nurves!Angry [:(!]
Oh, and I forget the extra, lets say, 60$ PE set from GMM?

Trumpeter, you're getting to far away and it's getting hard to catch up!

This is basically the same MSRP as the Tamiya Enterprise that has been out for what at lease 10 years. This is a big kit at about 37.5 inches. The discount houses are listing it on preorder for about $150 (Trident & Hobbyland for example). In resin you would have been pushing at least $1500 so if you want a Nimitz this is the best path. Things like the PE and aircraft can be obtained over the course of construction since it is not a weekend "slammer" but probably will take a number of months to complete. Personally I am waiting for the Lexington & Saratoga due to my lack of interest in modern warships.

Well, O.k. BUT(!) every new kit from trumpeter (regardless to what ever you build) is around the 100$ without shipment. from the Thud (F105), around 85$ to the new Mil 24 Hind, about 120$, and offcourse the new P-38 Lightning for about 120$.

Look, these are the best models around, and I'd like to have a Nimits as well, but what can I do If I like and want/need all of the above???Disapprove [V]Angry [:(!]Sad [:(]Dead [xx(]

I think I'll pack my bags and move to Hong-kong, and try to find a job at Trumpeter. Hey I dont mind being the Janitor, all I need is a seriuse disscount! Big Smile [:D]
