I LOVE this detailed! with LOTZ of goodies!

The cage is made from brass rod, antenna, the rigging and poles are from rod and guitar wires.

Hi Prince!

Thanks!!Smile [:)]

My cousin did one year aboard these 67-68 just before the U.S. handed most river duties to the ARVN forces in 69 I think it was, he said they all pretty much looked the same...just OD with some having the red hull.

I'm really not much of a authority on these awesome boats....maybe someone else here can help you.

Here is some more pics of this boat on my new site:

Great kit isn't it!

Good luck!

Troy.

im ognna try this one with the red hull, i think i have fouind the right color.

Sounds like a cool project!

I always wanted to build a dio with the PBR crew doing an inspection of a common river boat.

Once in a while on ebay you can find that clear pre-formed water base for the Tamiya Pibber.....It looks real cool it basicly sets the PBR in a full run with a good sized wake!

I think Dragon or Squadron made it?

oh nice, im going to have to lok for that... i had no idea they made that...
also, incase you ever attemp to do another kit like this, or similar...i've gone to various websites, and downloaded old photos and pics of playboy magazine covers, time magazine covers, and several pin-ups and centerfolds, im going to 'shrink them down to scale, and use them on the pibber and/or the diorama...its cheaper then buying aftermarket, and for a 'starving' musician like myself..thats always a plus...
thx again..

Tamiya 1/35 PBR MKII?. Is this a new Tamiya kit?. I have one in my collection several years ago, but it's probably MKI. Here's some pictures :

Check your box, Maniac, it should be a Mk II.

Nice job, But like mentioned before I saw none with red hulls while I was there in 70.
They were mostly beaters that were repainted a few times and the RVN had taken over the operation of most Pibbers by then. I had an Idea to do one with a huge RVN flag attached to the Canvas Bimini Top which was common practice..
