The only thing I can think of is to contact the maker of the kit, and ask them if they might still have original instructions for it. when molds are put away sometimes they store the printing setup for instructions with it.

Yeah...its the one from Revell, 50s you say? probably should have mentioned the company in my original post. This is a project for my father in law who served on the Coral Sea in the 50s. Thanks for the quick comeback, I think I will try the frisket route. Now, if I could only score me some directions.

If it's the Revell kit it actually came out in the mid to late 50s. You can make your stencils out of Frisket - it's a thin plastic sheet with a sticky side. You can find it at an artist's supply store and some of the better stocked LHSs stock it. If you would rather go with decals, check some of the AM decal makers for a sheet of solid yellow decal material.

Recently, I won a Midway Class Carrier off of Ebay. Does someone out there know where I can score the instructions for this. Im not sure what year it was made but its fairly old (maybe 1960s is when it was made). I also have a need for decals, the ones with the kit are yellowed plus I am looking for CV-43 Coral Sea. I am thinking I am going to have to create them myself or use a stencil. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
