Wow! You're a braver man than I. Yes, they might be visible at "scale" viewing distances, but that's gotta be a real labor of love. Good luck with that, Mike!

Italeri 720 CVN Flight Deck Pad-eyes

Has anyone, other than John Leyland, tried to drill the pad-eye tie down holes on an Italeri 1/720 Nimitz-class flight deck?

Call it a wild hair, but the thought has crossed my mind as I plan this kit. It seems that using tape as a guide to keep the rows lined up, it would be rather straight forward. I can see, perhaps one minor problem of piercing the decals with a needle after they were applied. Once begun though, I'd certainly be committed. Maybe I should be committed for even thinking such a thing.

At "scale" viewing distances, the pad-eyes are visable and certainly would look "right" if done well.

Anybody tried it?

Mike
