Revell U Boat instructions

WOW!!Guess I should put this thing on ebay.It appears that I'm the only one to ever buy this thing.Strange that no one else here has it with this many members.Now I know why I stick with planes.

I've got this model, but it's built, and I don't keep the instructions to models I've finished.
Have you contacted Revell for a replacement copy, or better still, return to the LHS you visited, tell them it was missing the instructions, and see if they will switch the kit out for another. After you make the switch, open it in the store and see if the instructions are there. Maybe Revell had a run of that kit with a flaw in the packaging process.

BTW, lots of stuff would need to be changed on that kit to make it "correct"; I don't know if you care or not about that, but some years back Ken Hart, past president of the SubComittee, wrote an excellent article on making that model right. I believe he had it as part of a dry dock diorama.

Thanks for the reply.I've tried revell but haven't gotten any response as yet.As far as taking it back for a trade,it was the only one they had.I usually build planes but I have the odd kit of other subjects.I have the Tamya big E that was my first ship.I just had a desire to add a U-boat to the collection.If it was a plane or a car I could fake my way through without instrictions but this thing with the open interior puts me in uncharted waters.Thanks for your help.Hopfully I get a response from Revell

Oh...why didn't you say you had the one with the open interior?
I have that model unassembled. I can get you copies of the instructions. send me your email address. I'm samreichart@msn.com... I just scanned them all in for you. they are large, so I hope you have cable or DSL.

If you ever decide to try a plane in 1/48,I can maybe return the favour.
Some day I plan to take the tour through the u-boat that's in Chicago.I drove right by it once and didn't even know it was there.I believe it's U-504.It has quite a history to it.

I used to live in Chicago, and the U-boat there is the U-505. Really impressive to walk through, though there are some parts of the boat you don't get to see. Right at the moment, the exhibit is closed, because they're putting the boat in an enclosure to keep it out of the weather. I think they're also going to spruce up the boat itself to undo the effects of it sitting outside for all these years. They hope to open a new larger exhibit around the U-boat later this year.
