LVCP Diorama

I have a 1/32 scale LVCP with 6 figures (D-day version) I purchased. Its a Lindburg (boo-hoo), but I plan on converting it to one used on the other landing done on southern france. Anyone know the name of it, i dont think i will need to convert much. What tips can you offer for detailing it. The kit is so basic, I already knew I would have to scratchbuild most of it. I already painted and assembled it with tamiya enamles and model master acrilics, but are the markings the same. Also, would a 1/32 to 1/35 scale guy really look different. Maybe i need to lenghten the guns, but it would be more realistic since all guys arent the same height. What is your input on the LVCP and landind diorama. I really need thishelp, thanks.

I am finishing doing the Linberg Lcvp. I bot 30 cal guns, made new shields, pintle, new gun tubs from copper tubing, scratch built air scoops, installed engine room access doors on rear deck, replaced rear deck with wood, placed water splash shiled in front of gun tubs, repalced cleats with metal ones, made front ramp hinge from piano hinge just like real one, replaced port and starboard lights with scratch built, replaced liferings with cast metal ones, installed pulleys and wire and covers on starboard inside hull like real LCVP has, scratch built coxswain's station including dials, wheel, deck, and compass, replaced anchor with metal one and rope as well, etc.

There is another company who makes a 1:35 LCVP. Can't remember the name off hand, but it ain't cheap, I've seen it in the Squadron catalog update flyers but can't find it in their big one. It might be a better deal if you don't have to do all that scratch building.

Fonderie Miniature ' s the name of the french company making a 1/35th LCVP...Btw, they ' ve made the LCA, too !
These ' re short run injected plastic kits, quite expensive ( around 40/50 $ ea. ), and they need some good job to finish well...! Resin guns tubes, metal 0.30 MGs ( don' t expect Collector' s Brass quality ! ), and few details...That' s all you get for your fifty bucks !
Have a nice day....! Smile [:)]
