We had a long, rambling discussion of this very topic in the Forum back in May. It took me a while to navigate the Forum sufficiently to find it, but I eventually did. I also added a reply to that thread, so it would get moved to this page. It should now appear just below this one on the topic list, under the title "Questions about the U.S.S. Constellation wooden ship (Not CVA-64)." I'm afraid the bottom line of that thread will be rather depressing, but it's accurate. Hope it helps a little.
