I bought the Kange Tripits at a Hobbylobby sale and promptly gave it away. Much of the modlings are out of scale and it looks almost like a toy. The plastic is much lower grade and it had a lot of pin marks and flash. I'd pay the extra $20 and go Tamiya. That is a fun kit all around.

i wish to build a USS New Jersey, but i dislike waterline ships. i thought my only two options were the trumpeter and tamiya 1/700 and 1/350 offerings respectively, if i wanted to do a full-hull. this was until i saw a 1/400 USS New Jersey at my LHS. it was prced inbetween the 1/50 Tamiya kit and the trumpeter 1/700 kit. id like to know what i will be getting. a disaster? or a nice model? im not asking for a fall-together kit, i just want to stay clear from a kit that needs more filler than glue, and ends up taking the fun out of things.
