Does this web site peak anyone's interest the way it has peaked mine?

http://www.navyfield.com/

Build and supply a Naval force and do battle on the high seas using
Japanese, German, United States or British naval forces?

I am going to have to keep an eye out for this, or at least some foreign version...Smile [:)]

[edit]
There seems to be a .wmv screen video capture here
http://www.gamespace24.net/navyfield/download/movie/NAVYFIELD_PV.wmv
it is 6 meg streaming and a bit choppy, but it makes me do thisBig Smile [:D]

No problem guys, I didn't realize that the english site existed at first.
However it confirms my impressions from the original site, that this is being marketed as a "massive Multiplayer" game.

That means skill points, or experience points on the ships you take with you online will matter. Also that you will be horizion or over the horizon combat in fleet formations with other players(captains) and their ships. Of course the down side to "massive multiplayer games is that this may mean subscription fees also.

It sounds almost unmangable, but has definitly caught my interest.

There is a download available now, However,
it may need the patch, which doesn't seem available yet.

I have gotten this to install, but it doesn't seem to be able to connect to a server or something. More on this once I get it running. The opening screens have some gorgeous 3d models of ships, but if the demo won't play, .... I will update this again once, or if I get the demo to play.

The main download, and the patch are available on
http://www.navyfield.com/

I installed the exe, and then went to the navy field folder and dropped the "patch files" into the appropriate folders.

Only a small frigate is available for construction. you can apply three turrets, and sailors
Select radar/fire control system and powerplant.
This game will take lots of practice....

For those that wander in to this demo,

F = increase speed
V = reduce speed
Right clicking on any locaton will change your course heading.
G = center on your ship

A/D = rotate selected turret
S/X = should change yout elevation angle of selected turret
Holding the shift key while adjusting angle or rotation, will apply finer control

Y = switches between a and b magazines of selected turret

Things I didn't quite get the hang of or try.
Q selects front turret?
E selects rear turret?
T selects T mount?
R selects R mount?
W selects all guns/ mounts?

I couldn't figure out how to shift to the "B" magazine, and ran out of ammo
I had to retreat with heavy damage, but not before getting two good running exchages with one of the enemy destroyers. Understanding these gun controls rather than trying to mouse click my way to target solutions might have helped.

Good luck.
