The fit of the lower to upper hull isn't what it could be. That's about the only problem area in my opinion.

Actually Subfixer, there IS a wash on the planes. I probably made it a little too subtle; it makes the dive flaps on the SBD's stand out but not much more. But I do appreciate your commentary and thank you for it.

Seaknight: I know the resin figures you're talking about and they do look good. I gave them some serious consideration, but I've already pumped enough money into this project [:0] so that's why I'm going with the PE crew.

It really looks good. You know that there is some 1/350 figures for ships. They are from Eduard and associatesand there about $15.00. They look prety cool. Anyway butiful work.

Superb job on the Hornet, Paul. If you really want some feedback I only have this: It is a very clean version of the ship and it would seem you deliberately meant it to be that way. This is good. The only suggestion I have is that you might try a thin wash on the aircraft to bring out the detail on them. I don't mean that you weather them, but make the panel lines stand out a little. Now I will crawl back under my rock and leave you alone.

Yes, I have 200 PE brass figures from Gold Medal Models which I'm currently
painting, and they will become part of the Hornet's crew.

Of course by then I'll be totally blind from painting the little buggers. . . Dead [xx(]

Your Hornet looks great! I just picked up a Revell 1:1200 minikit version of that ship. I'll probably use your photos for a reference for the paint job.

It's also nide to see a USS Hornet without the B-25s on it. Obviously the Dolittle Raid was a gutsy undertaking, but that's not all the Hornet did. Smile [:)]
