I am planning to start my first ship model in many a year.Iwould like to do one of the Pellilu or the Tarawa in 1/700 or 1/720.Could any one point me in the right direction when it comes to detailing and detailing kits.

Well that all depend how much detail you want to put into the model. I'm assuming that you haven't built one in a long while, so I guess you might look into photo-etch kits. There are many kit's out there go to Modelwarships.com you can find out all you need to know about photo-etch there. Some of these kits are costly but they are worth it. 1/700 scale is really small for me but to each his own. Photo-etching has brought modelship building into the 21st century. Good luck
