PE antennas and radar, need help

Just a note...Bob's Fletcher model was done from the Blue Jacket kit, not the Lindbergh one. Bob is truly one of the masters. I've seen his Fletcher up close and personal, and it's beyond words...truly a masterpiece.

I too was looking for something when I built that ship, Jeff is right there is nothing out there as of yet. listen to Jeff he know what he is talking about. I ended up getting the same pictures that Jeff shows you and scratchbuilt it all. you can get lots of info on the web if you look hard enough. I even talked to Bob Steinbrunn, look at the job he did! you might be surprised at the job you can do if you put the time into it. getting photo-etch that is not the right scale will not cut it. Either wait for Toms or do it yourself. Good Luck

Actually, no one makes PE for this kit yet...only some white metal fittings from HR and John Brown...if you want radars, you either have to wait for the upcoming Tom's Modelworks PE set, or scratchbuild...

When I did my SC-5 Air Search radar, I actually used a model railroad building window frame, covered with wire mesh, and added some dipoles made from brass wire. Not perfect, but it looked very convincing from a foot away.

With regards to the Mk 4 radar for the MK 37 Fire Control Director, wire mesh bent into a W shape profile will suit your needs. The kit's support arms can still be used. Here's a pic to show you what I'm talking about.
