Trumpeter Mayflower

Trumpeter has released a 1/60 Mayflower, has anyone heard anything about it? I once built the wonderful Revell Mayflower (II) kit. It was tiny (so was the original), but it was wonderfully detailed, except for the plastic deadeyes, shrouds and ratlines - it came with lots of blocks and plenty of small touches. How does Trumpeter's offering compare?

I'm in the middle of building that kit right now.Its alot bigger than the old Revell kit.The Revell kit was like 1/96 scale and this is 1/60th.I'm building mine more as a merchantman of that time period than the Mayflower. The hulls over 2 ft long with bow sprit about 30in.The blocks and deadeyes are plastic but are to be rigged not fake premade. It comes with 10 cannons thats why I'm doing it the way I'm doing it. The fit as been pretty good.I've got one deck thats a little short of the wales but I'll trim it out with some square stock. One of the bad things about the kit is they prepainted some of the areas of the stern.I removed that with lacquer thinner.i don't know why companys do those things oh well. The sails of course are plastic.I'm changing them to cloth. All and all its a pretty good model. If you want to know more let me know.

Millard,

I've been wanting to add that kit to my collection, can you send a few pictures?
