Here is my Frunze by Trumpeter. I used MM Leather to get the deck red color, since that seems to be the closest to all the pics I've seen of the real thing.

I did the same thing on my Pyotr Velihky:

It's not very clear on this pic, but I hope it shows well enough.

Its just a type of Soviet anti-skid coating. One is green one is brown and there is a new type for avation surfaces that is gray.

Chasing the ultimate build.

WEM makes an excellent Russian Deck Red, as well as the Deck Green seen on carriers and some other ships (e.g. Kara class). Most Russian ships have a combination of red and dark gray decks, gray on the main deck and red on the upper decks. As always, check your sources. The dark gray can be done with MM Gunship Gray or similar color. HTH.

FS# 31302 - it's dark orange with a hint of brown in it.

actually it is orange or at least a reddish orange since rust is a reddish brown color and the rust coloring is only found on russian carrier flight decks and the orange is on the island's decks and the catwalks surrounding the flight deck.

Can any one tell me what is the correct colour for Soviet/Russian upper decks. It says orange, but it is more of a rust colour. What is the correct colour, and which is the best paint to use. Thanks.Smile [:)]
