Thanks Lohn. Of coarse with the details on mine came alot of flash and pin marks.

Heres another picture. Got all the masts done. Should start rigging over the weekend.

Looks good Chris. I also have that kit and really like the details they molded in the parts.

Thanks. The stripe was taped but the gun ports were free hand. I will try to get some more pics up later on since I have pretty much all the parts together now.

Now I know what those older golfers felt like when young Tiger Woods first stepped on the course...
Looks great. Did you free paint the stripe and inside gun ports or tape them off?

Thanks again guys.

Dan- I'm pretty sure if I knew what I was doing, I would have far less progress made.

You notice how Revell molded the "correct" cannon port doors on the smaller model, but not the bigger one? When ever I do the big one I always have to drill through the center enlarge them and then cut them in half. I think I'm going to try to make resin replacements parts for this. I'll keep you posted.

Great job. That was the first kit I did a few years back.

I would like to what it would look like if you did have an idea of what you're doing, this looks great.

Well this is my first venture in this side of the forum since it is also my first venture into the ship building. This is the Revell 1/196 kit I thought I would pick up and try since it was less than $10.
I started it last weekend and did a bit on it a couple of nights this week. I must say that even though i know nothing about ships, this kit must not be the best out there. Lots of flash, bad fit and the instructions are a bit unhelpful in a spot or two. That being said, here are some pics. Let me know what you think, as I have no real idea on what I am doing.

Pictures are a bit crappy but this thing is trickier than a tank to photo.
