USSR colors!!!!

Help! IK just picked up the ussr frunze from trumpeter. i would really like a list of federal standard colors for it as they only include gunze sangyo. the most important fs i need are cobalt blue, russian green, ussr grey and that weird copperish brownish colors the decks are. Thanks, Tanky.

Your best bet is to get the actual paint colors from White Ensign Models. http://www.whiteensignmodels.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Modern_Naval_Colours_49.html The Russian colors can be found in their modern naval paint series. Their delivery service is very fast (typically within a week) from the UK to anywhere.

White Ensign Models Paints have a couple of US distributers. The one I know off hand is www.pacificfront.com. The WEM paints are excelent.

Here is a pic of my completed Russan Frunze put out by Trumpeter:



I used a Warbirds Blue Grey for the hull and superstructure, MM Dark Gull grey for the Electronics, gunmetal for the CWIS guns, white over the radar covers, boats, etc. and MM Leather for the deck.

I built him OOB with no aftermarket parts and the decals were from the kit. They went on smooth and snuggled down very well over the detail; no solvent was necessary.
