Modern Destroyer Rigging
Posted by rockythegoat on Saturday, January 1, 2005 11:14 AM
Anybody have any good sites and/or pics which show where the rigging on modern USN destroyers, crusiers and frigates terminate on the DECK end of the rigging?

Everything I have seen has the lines hard to see due to paint/lighting, or they are covered up.

Thanks for any help!

The best reference I have found is "Seapower" written by John Gresham & Ian Westwell. It's published by Chartwell Books. I picked it up at Barnes & Noble on sale but I'm sure it's available at other outlets. All pictures are color and it covers virtualy all modern US warships.

Unlike grabbing pictures off the internet, the photo's in this book are large and provide excellent detail.

I have seen a couple advertisements for a new book out and "by the cover", seems to be dedicated to destroyers. Personally, I need that one!

pathfinder: yea, i have "seapower' too, but, the photos are still unclear as to where the lines go. although, i haven't used a magnifier yet, so maybe they are there.

i know MBI (i think) put out the paper cover "Modern Destroyers" good photos and info.
