I hope Trumpeter is listening! While the Sara and Lex are famous for their exploits during WWII (not so much the SARA), the real history of these ships is their contribution to the development of NAVAIR preceeding the war.
Thus, some sort of backdating conversion (or outright mold), complete with a Trumpeter quality airwing of biplanes would be awesome. Besides, I agree, yellow wings with colorful prewar squadron markings look great!
I hope whoever supplies makes its historically accurate too! There is good reference material on the airgroups contained on the ships during different periods, from the late 20's on up till the start of the war. There were some pretty obscure types (Grumman FF/SF-1 comes to mind), that operated in squadron strength only (since that's all that was produced).
I realize this may be a pipe dream, given the realities of meeting the bottomline, but sure would be nice!
