I too agree, I was just stating that the plastic model probally had the sails made onto the yards, there was no way to remove them. I think that he did danm near perfect for that size, and I would hope he puts the dio in some contest, he's sure to win!

Anyway, in the movie, and in the books, Capt. Jack Aubrey often does things that push the limits of good sense. He often looses sails and spars.

The photos look fantastic, and I espcially like the water. of the diorama.

C'mon, guys. We're talking about a tiny little kit of a dozen or so pieces that's really marketed for kids. It has injection-molded plastic sails cast integrally with the yards. The Korean modeler probably had access to a severely limited reference library on Western sailing vessels. I think he or she has done a remarkable job of integrating a very basic kit into a nice diorama, full of character and action. And the photograph of it is excellent. If I hadn't known in advance I might not have realized the sails were plastic. I hope this modeler shows us more of his or her work.

Another question I've had since the movie poster came out (I scored a theater copy, pays to have friend in low places) is why the production would show the ship in a strong gail conditions rounding the horn and firing cannons I can gaurantee you that the capt. would have been thrown overboard if he order that crap, the water would have poured in and the ship would have sank

I noticed that too, he has a few sails too many, but in that scale the sails are made onto the yards and I suppose he could not get them off without damage, but overall a nice job, I might even try to copy it.

Very nice, though I'm not sure she should be carrying that much sail in what comes close to gale force winds. The direction of the pennant shows she's running, and by the angle between the pennant and the mast , the windspeed looks to exceed the ship's speed by at least 20 knots.
Not that I could do as well, I'm just saying.

Not bad - especially in view of the fact that the ship is about three inches long. I especially like the water.
