1/350 TILLEY AND TUGS for Trumpeter carriers?

White Ensign does them in photoetched brass, and Tom's Modelworks does them in white metal. L'Arsenal might do them in resin, but I'm not on that one.

I wish to make a clarification. I'm not sure why those big, carrier-borne cranes were called "Tilly"; I think there may be a connection with a boxer nicknamed "Tilly the Toiler." But the cranes, contrary to what has been asserted on more than one occasion, are NOT named after me or, so far as I know, anybody related to me. I admit there's a superficial resemblance, in that they make lots of noise and emit considerable quantities of noxious gas, but....

.....they do lumber around and are actually useless for anything but for the one thing they are designed for - removing wreckage and scrap. Now that proves that they couldn't be any kin to you, Professor. But then again, how are you at lumbering around?

Now that you mention it, lumbering around is one of my specialties. Maybe there IS some relation....
