Kaillininn Complete!
Posted by Duke Maddog on Friday, February 18, 2005 5:36 PM
Well, here it is. I completed my Russian Kallininn battelcruiser, and I thought I'd post a pic for everyone to see:

This is the Trumpeter kit in 1/700 scale built OOB.

Three down, one to go!

Comments are welcome.

Duke, I swear, you must be 15 people to build that fast!!!! I have the trumpeter frunze I;m gonna start soon, but i'm going to add the WEM PE set. Some of the radrs looked a little chunky to me., Excellent build!!!

I'm getting ready to start a Sovremmeny. What color did you use for the red decks?

Lonh, Rick, saltydog, Dave Toews, thanks for your great comments everyone! They are really motivating!

Tankmaster, not quite 15, maybe 12 and a half! Lol! Wink [;)]Clown [:o)]

Have fun with that Frunze. Good luck on the P/E. I'd have tried that, but I didn't have the cash to get the P/E set, so I just built OOB. Mine was fun to build, but long! That was the most extensive ship kit in terms of parts that I've ever built! Then I built Pyotr Velihky right afterwards! now I need Kirov, and I'll have the complete set!

Seadragon, I used Testors Model Master Leather for the red decks. It was the closest thing I could get to match up with all the photos I had of these great ships. A friend of mine had even sent me pics that included the decks of a Sovremennyy class that had made a port call in San Diego once. I only wish I still had those. They were lost in a HD crash

Good luck on your Sov! Post pics when it's done!
