Word of warning: if you pre-order it at that price, make sure you print a copy of the web page you ordered it from, the comfirmation page, and a copy of their guarantee of the pricing. Just remeber what happened in the PC community a few years back with the video card fiasco...

Hard to say, I guess it depends on their honor integrity. I'm willing ot take that chance, if they say no dice, then I'll take my money back.

I was talking about this today with the Owner and Manager at our local HOBBY watering hole and they all laughed and said that:

"Someone is going to be VERY UPSET when they find that the price that they 'SOLD' some of those 1/72 SUBS ...was below or very CLOSE to their costs!

OOPS!

.......and I was told by several folk today that the letter that I recieved from them stating ( The kit price quoted will be honored no matter what the final price will be ) should be a LEGAL and binding STATEMENT?

yet some say they can still work themselves around that saying that the information ( they had ) was incorrrect or something like that.

What do you folks think?

P.S. I understand that there is still a ( small ) chance that the kit could be sold through Revell/Monogram of America or sold by Revell of Germany to the U.S. at a lower price....but I don't think so.

Hot damn!!

I'll be pre-ordering 2 or 3 myself in the next couple of days.

Will do the Turm II, IV and Flak Boat...then I'm basically done...

I converted the POS Amati kit from a Type VIIB into a VIIC, what a pain...

It's in the Feature Articles section of my site, www.modelwarships.com

I agree with you Jeff!

Here is what I recieved from REVELL OF GERMANY just today.

Dear Mr. Enlow, ( Thats me )

I don´t know who makes the prices for the US market. But here in Germany a consumer will have to pay about EUR 50,00 for one model. ( That sounds about right to me! )

Best regards

and! here is what I have recieved from HOBBY LINC!

Mr. Enlow

Currently 22.99 is the price that the manufacturer has informed us of. Preordering would get that price regardless of future price increases.

Thank you for your interest in Hobbylinc.com

SO! Tomorrow I will be sending my PRE-ORDER Payment to HOBBY LINC with thier special price of 14.99 plus 5.00 shipping and 2.00 handling ....Oh yeah..... the U.S. Dollar is $1.19 to the Euro dollar, at this point in time.

YOU GOTTA LOVE IT!!!

Tough call, but I don't believe for one instant that a 36" long ship model is going to retail for less than $50, especially when their Schnellboote is retailing for $22

I hope that it retails for $22, I'll buy a whole flotilla!!

Hi Gang! The new Revell of Germany
1/72 scale VII-C German Sub still has a release date of this
November and is looking good! here is the latest !

COOL huh?Big Smile [:D]

But my concern is that Two U.S. distibuters
( Sentai ) and ( Hobby Linc ) are saying that
it should cost about 22.00 U.S. Dollars
.....WHAT!?!.....I have seen MUCH smaller
Revell of Germany kits ( imported ) cost alot more!
and that kit will be close to 39 inches long when
completed! WOW!....
Hobby Linc has already told
me in a E-MAIL that thier PRE-ORDER
price of 14.99 with six something shipping
and handeling wil be honored no matter
what the price ends up as!

Should I go for it now? or has Revell of
Germany kits gone low for some reasons?
and I do know that Revell/Monogram has NO Ships
in the 2003 3rd and 4th qtr line up at all!

What do you think?

Thanks!Smile [:)]
