Revell Type VII (1/72) - some pics before paint...
I was tring to post some pictures on this forum (it's been a while since I've done that) and until I can figure out where to dump them in order to post them here, I put a few up on my member homepage on the SubCommittee site:

It's almost ready for paint. Apologies in advance for the lower pixel count on these photos- they get degraded when we post them.
Here's what's been done to the model:
upper drain slots opened,
long slot above saddle tanks opened,
individual supports inserted into the large saddle tank slot opening,
photoetch main deck and CT deck from Modelbrass,
upper pressure hull from Yankee Model Works installed,
Steve Nuttall gun barrels, scopes and prop shafts,
modified periscope housing,
fixed height problem of UZO,
new screens on tower intake,
additional grab rails (also replaced one that sprang off into the carpet netherworld when being removed from the sprue),
additional jumpers made for rear of tower,
vent covers added to saddle tanks,
main CT hatch has wheel added.
I still want to sculpt a bit of a "bullnose" on the forward deck forward of the antenna wire, and add a wire handle to the main CT hatch. The rear insulators that can be found on the aft of the wintergarten need to be added; I built them out of copper wire with some inslulator coating left on them.
This is going to be U-83, so camo paint will be the finish. I plan on doing some heavy weathering as well. Now I just have to wait for some decent painting weather...
Comments or crtique is welcome. Thanks for letting me share.
regards,
Sam
