Just a couple of questions
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 6, 2005 11:45 AM
Hi everyone, I just registered, after seeing some of the models made by the people here.
I'm not very experienced with scale modeling, apart from the occasionnel revell model aircraft in my youth.
Currently however, I am collecting a large amount of ship models. Most of them are Revell, but in the near future I will also ad Dragon and Tamiya models. Although it will be nice to built a CVN, these are to large for my taste, especially since the lack of experience I have... I do have an Invincible class lying around, and this is a nice and small model. But i also have a resin model of the new Dutch LCF "Zeven Provincien" class air defence frigates. It's in scale 1:350th however, and there fore stands out with the rest of my ships wich are all in scale 1:700th.

Anyway, I just found the JAG collective model of the stealthy CV(X) model built by Paul Boyer, and was hoping that some of you might had more pictures of it. You see, I plan on getting this model, but it's currently sold out at "Trident hobbies". And since the JAG Collective site itself sells it for $30 USD more...
So, someone who might be able to help me with this? As well as giving me a few tips in building Resin models.

I just thought of this, does anybody here knows where i could find some reference material to the tractors used on carriers? The ones to push/pull the planes, as well as the mobile recovery cranes used on the Tarawa and Wasp class amphibious ships.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Remko

the best advice is to read mike asheys book:- how to build scale model ships. it goes through all the steps to build impressive models from beginners to advanced models. it is hard to give specific advise as everyone has different skill levels. his book is brilliant and i use it consistently. he has a great section on building resin kits and i can highly recommend it to any ship modeller of all levels.

Thanks!!
I'll see if I can find the book and order it soon.
Anyway, if anyone hre has some more photo's about JAG Collective's Staelth Carrier, please, let me know. I love that design!!

BTW, does anyone here know where I might be able to find V-22 Ospreys, Lockheed JSF and Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets? All in scale 1:700th of course!!
Thanks!
