Apparently it was stopped being used on 27th September 1919.

As for the references you mentioned, I'd always rely on photos before artwork, unless it was created during the same time frame as the subject.

It's very similar in that the top left hand corner of the image you show is the whole flag.If they stopped using that one in 1919,what did they fly between then and the Reich flag?
