PE kits for Essex class carriers

That's why I recommended going to the website and reading the reviews of all three...otherwise, why am I wasting all that money on server space? :-)

I have bought both the Toms and GMM. I'm told the Toms offers somewhat more parts. However, I think the GMM is better--thicker brass, more detailing, and much better instructions. The Toms relies on "references", that I bought but could not discern what goes where. Example: railings. There are four types for the Essex. GMM tells you where each goes; Toms does not. The retail prices as I recall are about the same for the basic and the "expanded" sets. I have no information on the third offering.

You have some choices based on what kind of modeler you are and how much detail you want to add to your kit...

If you want an inexpensive, basic set with rails and all the other necessary parts, get the Tom's Modelworks set.

If you're looking for superdetailing and every concievable part you can think of, get the White Ensign Ultimate set. But they're more expensive and fragile than the rest.

If you're middle of the road, get the Gold Medal set.

I would suggest taking a look at the reviews of all three sets on www.modelwarships.com , we have scans of the frets included.

I've never personally had a problem with the Gold Medal kits. They may be a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
