I saw the review where it was stated the kit is accurate for Kronzprinz post -Jutland only. I have both Konig and Grosser Kurfurst in my stash, and plan to do one pre and one post Jutland. I've yet to research the ships myself, but here are some sites where you go do some of your own research:

Go here for pictures of Mike Taylor's gorgeous SMS Grosser Kurfurst

There is also a series of build up article on the Konig by Andy Elwood on modelwarships.com, but sadly it's incomplete:

White ensign also do a set for it.Very comprehensive and a supplementary set to show torpedo nets deployed. Over one hundred very very very tiny support brackets for the nets to add to the hull !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply, guess I have to work up the courage and ducats to try the PE. Would be a shame to build this w/out those torpedo nets so often seen on these old battlewagons!

I haven't built either kit, but I do know that Gold Medal Models produces an excellent set of photo-etched detail parts covering the class - with extremely detailed instructions detailing the differences between the individual ships.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Hello all,

Long-time dreadnaught fan, but haven't touched a ship in years. After reading almost all mostly positive reviews of ICM's SMS Konig that I could find, I picked one up in a trade. Very nice kit!
(IMHO, not quite worth the MSRP, but very nice indeed if you can find it for less.)

Anyway, one review I read said that the OOTB kit is actually only accurate for the Kronprinz sister-ship, and not the Konig (or Grosser Kurfurst or Markgraf).

Any Konig gurus out there that can confirm this? Any Internet-based sources of info on the Konig class BB's to referance?

TIA,
Steve
